Wizards in America often dress like their non-magical counterparts, but there are times when magical folk adorn more traditional attire.
*Ilvermorny students wear robes of blue and cranberry with pendents shaped like the Gordian Knot clasping them at the neck. Under their robes, students wear button down tops, ties that are colored to correspond with their houses, and either slacks for boys or pleated skirts for girls. Students are also required to wear dress shoes of their choice.
*Wizards often wear robes during celebrations (Birthdays, Weddings, Graduations, Religious Ceremonies, etc.) and on holidays.
*Wizards that reside in strictly magical villages will adorn robes on a nearly daily basis.
Robes are either worn alone or with no-maj style clothing underneath. There are two styles that American wizards and witches wear; full robes (which are often worn alone- they include a cape and cover the entire body) and open robes, which are more like a long, hooded cape that drapes over the shoulders and ends just above the ankles (worn over clothing).
Wizards and witches sometimes were hats as well. The typical hat style for witches is pointed with a round brim that encompasses the circumference of the hat, and wizards often wear pointed hats that do not include brims.
